H13 is hot work die steel, the implementation of standard GB / T1299-2000. ; Grade 4Cr5MoSiV1; alloy tool steel referred to as the joint steel, carbon steel is based on the addition of alloying elements and the formation of steel. Among them, including: measuring tool with cutting tools, impact resistance steel, cold work die steel, hot die steel, non-magnetic die steel, plastic mold steel.

A. Electroslag remelting steel, the steel has a high hardenability and thermal cracking resistance,
B. Contains a higher content of carbon and vanadium, good wear resistance, toughness is relatively weakened, with good heat resistance.
C. High temperature with good strength and hardness, high wear resistance and toughness,
D. Excellent comprehensive mechanical properties and high resistance to tempering stability.

1.Full hardness(52-54HRC) plastic moulds with higher requirement for polishing and longevity, such as Bakelite plastic moulds.
2. Die casting moulds of lead, zinc and aluminum alloy (such as engine radiator, lamp,and decoration) .
3.Aluminum extrusion moulds such as Aluminum window&door, computer radiator.
4.Hot forging moulds such as auto connecting rods ,crank, stainless dinner knife.
5.Low yielding cooper and aluminum alloy extrusion and die casting mould.

Heat Treatment of H13 / 1.2344 / SKD61 steel
Hot Forming
Forging: 1100 to 900ºC, slow cooling in furnace.
Annealing: 750 to 800ºC, slow cooling in furnace (10-20ºC/hr), down to 600ºC, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 230 HB.
Stress relieving: 600 to 650ºC, slow cooling in furnace. Hold in neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2hours.
Hardening: 1020 to 1080ºC, oil/air, hold 20 to 30 minutes. Hardness , 52 to 56 HRC in oil, 50 to 54 HRC in air.
Tempering: 560 to 580ºC. Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper at least twice. The second tempering temperature shall be approx. 20 to 30ºC lower than the first tempering.

Surface treatment:
Nitriding: Suited for both bath and gas nitriding.
Properties:
Excellent hot tensile properties, high hot wear resistance, good machinability, high toughness and heat checking resistance. Recommended working temperature under than 540ºC.
